The Roughnecks Motorcycle Club is a non-profit

brotherhood of active and retired law enforce-

ment, firefighters, EMS and military motorcycle

enthusiasts. This rapidly expanding social organ-

ization has chapters from coast to coast, including

seven in Tennessee and two nearby in North Georgia.

Formed in December 2010, Hamilton County is one of over 60 Roughnecks chapters nationwide. It was started with more than twenty charter members. Several “prospects” are usually vying for membership in the local chapter.

Besides public safety or military service, a limited number of like-minded riders who share our values can be sponsored in by a patched member. All members are required to ride a motorcycle with a 500cc or larger engine.

Hosting charity fundraising events

Each chapter hosts at least one charity fundraising event a year in support of wounded or fallen public safety and military personnel, terminal diseases, burn centers, and other worthy causes.

The Hamilton County chapter's first event was the “In the Line of Duty” ride on September 24, 2011, honoring two fallen heroes: Chattanooga police Sergeant Tim Chapin and U.S. Army Sergeant John Michael Sullivan. The ride has become an annual event that supports heroes from Law Enforcement and the U.S. Armed Forces.

Roughnecks members can also be found supporting charity rides sponsored by other law-abiding clubs. More information about the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club can be found at www.RoughnecksMC.com.
